Our Story
Since 1932

Gini Palm’s story began at the prestigious Marshall & Snelgrove department store in Bradford, West Yorkshire. After completing a business course, Gini trained under Miss Mont, the doyenne of fashion buyers. Miss Mont was among the first buyers to travel to Paris after the First World War, sourcing collections from some of the most renowned fashion houses, including Dior, Jean Patou, and Marcel Rochas.
She also oversaw the visits of Yorkshire textile magnates, who would arrive by chauffeur to spend the day purchasing and placing orders in an atmosphere of elegance and refinement. It was within this glamorous environment that Gini developed both her expertise and her enduring passion for couture fashion.
Building on this foundation of knowledge and experience, Gini Palm went on to acquire Julie Fitzmaurice in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. As Creative Director, she leads a dedicated team of passionate fashion specialists, working within an environment inspired by the traditions of the Paris couture houses.
Gini and her team design and create bespoke outfits for discerning clients who value attention to detail, honesty, exceptional quality, and precise fitting. Using luxurious fabrics such as wool crepe, silk, lace, tweed, and velvet, each piece is carefully crafted to flatter—concealing and revealing in all the right places.
At Julie Fitzmaurice, anything is possible, in any size. Clients recognise and deeply appreciate the rarity of acquiring such timeless, individually tailored pieces.
